interesting to note that the commission didnt call brumby to account for his whereabouts on that saturday?the witch hunt laid the blame and inquisition on the doorstep of christine nixon,a police officer not a fire fighter.but on the other hand not only is brumby the so called head of the state but he is also a trained fire fighter.
also interesting is the non accountable councils with their brainless land clearing policies on private land.arent they partly to blame for the carnage and disaster by encouraging a good fuel supply for the fires?
and lasstly of interest no one listened nor took heed of the warnings and advice given after the ash wednesday fires?
these fires were horrific also but nowhere near as savage as black saturday,i know i was in the CFA at the time and left when the blame game started back then too.unfortunately if people keep blaming the CFA then there will either be a mass exodus from the service or they will simply refuse to put their lives at risk in the next big fires.i know never again will i risk my life to be later questioned like a criminal.lets wait and see from the final report of just how much blame is laid with the real culprits,the state governments from ash wednesday till today,the past and present councils and of course the real main player(s )the firebug(s) of the state.
